ARCKit
Description
ARCKit is a platform for the diagnostic evaluation and discovery of multimodal STEM accessibility systems. Built on the ARC (Architectural Readiness for perceptual Convergence) framework, it operationalizes the results of systematic reviews and empirical studies conducted within the COOBRA project, applied to a benchmark corpus of 66 reference systems.
Main features
The platform is designed for both non-specialist consultation and research use.
- Finding suitable tools — a simple rating distinguishes integrative systems (smooth to use, low cognitive load) from additive ones (basic features, potentially more fatiguing), with plain-language summaries for each entry.
- Evaluation and comparison — a diagnostic grid lets designers position their own system against the 66-system reference benchmark (2025 study), with results visualized as radar charts.
- Corpus exploration — a searchable database with filters (domain, platform, study type) covering the full set of evaluated systems.
- Accessibility — the interface is screen-reader compatible (ARIA tags, high contrast, textual descriptions of visual elements).
Status
ARCKit is an instrument of the ANR COOBRA project, documented in Sadallah & Encelle (CHI EA '26, W4A '26). Online platform and source repository links are forthcoming.
